Businesses, including LBPR, are facing challenging times as the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation continues. There’s no doubt this is a time where nobody knows where things will end up.

But while the future is uncertain, our glasses are half full (with coffee before lunch and wine after) and we’re here to help you find your inner light during these tough times.

“When we have graciously endured every adversity, we become
like a shining diamond.” ― Lailah Gifty Akita

Now is the perfect time to carefully consider content and focus on how you present our business online – whether it’s your website, social media or an eDM to your loyal customer database. We’re all in the process of self-isolating, social distancing and working from home. People are spending longer hours scrolling social media. In some European countries, Vodaphone reported a 50% increase in internet usage as their community shift to working at home.

Surviving this crisis is going to take a shift in mindset, and an army of support. This is the ultimate reminder that it’s your time to shine and bring that little bit of sparkle to your audience in a seemingly dark time.

Here are LBPR top tips, which you’ll see us employing for our own brand during this time.

1. Be Visible
Clarify and amplify your brand and messaging, and make sure it’s on-point. In times like these, businesses that stand out are those who choose to write content that is timely, innovative and inspiring. Disappearing in marketing terms may seem like a good way to create extra time, but when things return to some sort of normality, you’ll find you have a super steep communications hills to climb and your competitors will be way ahead.

2. Be Focused
With new ‘COVID-19’ updates every minute of every hour, it is easy to get distracted. Truth be told, turn it off or at the very least down. You need to be able to get your mind thinking right in order to get ahead today. Now is the time to focus in on understanding the current needs of your consumer, what they’re dealing with and tailoring your messaging to communicate that.

3. Be There
In times of social-distancing, creating a sense of community virtually is incredibly important. The best thing you can do is be there for your online community as a fellow human being. Respond to comments on your social media or emails promptly and go out of your way to make meaningful interactions. Be empathetic and understanding. Not only will this increase your engagement rate, but it will also improve the positioning of your content on the news feed.
